Marrakech – where to stay

For those of you who following me on Instagram you’ll know that last week I spent a couple of days in Marrakech. And as you might have gathered from the photos, I completely fell in love with the city. It was just as beautiful, vibrant and charming as I imagined.

I’d always wanted to go and luckily enough so did Nadja and Fanny. We booked our flight and Riads and next thing you know we were in Marrakech.

For the first night we stayed at Riad Mur Akush which was perfectly located in the Medina and had the friendliest staff.

I love how you to find your way down winding alleys and then behind the door awaits a little paradise. I imagine the inner courtyards must be absolutely beautiful to hang out in during the summer months. The weather wasn’t too warm during our stay (in February) so we were all about soaking up as much sun as possible.

The second riad, Riad BE Marrakech, we stayed in blew us all away. Again hiding behind the door was a little paradise. The tiles, the furniture, the doors, really the whole interior was just stunning.

I can highly recommend either of the two riads. Neither are very expensive and I feel they are much more authentic than staying in a big fancy hotel. Also: they both serve amazing breakfasts.

In my next two posts I’ll share where to eat and what to do. So stay tuned!
